Method Description
The CFU-GM in vitro test detects the direct adverse effects of xenobiotics on the proliferative capacities of the progenitors and should be able to predict the exposure level of xenobiotics that would cause clinical neutropenia after onset acute exposure.
The assay is used in a screening mode to predict chemical induced myelosuppression, one of the haematological parameters to be considered for the assessment of the haematotoxic potential of chemical compounds of various kinds.
