Disclaimer

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre maintains this service in reply to a requirement of the Communication of the European Commission to European Parliament and Council (SEC-91-1794), reinforced by Directive 2010/63/EU on the protection of animals used for scientific purposes, Article 48, Annex VII (2)(d), OJ L Nr. 276/33, 20.10.2010, namely to develop and manage information systems on alternative methods and in particular the tracking system on advanced and alternative procedures towards regulatory acceptance. Our goal is to keep this information timely and accurate. The layouts and contents of the TSAR of the EU Reference Laboratory on Alternatives to Animal Testing (EURL ECVAM) have been prepared very carefully. If errors are brought to our attention, we will try to correct them. Please send your comments through the Contact form available on the upper top bar. However, neither the European Commission nor any person acting on behalf of the Commission is responsible for the use that might be made of the information contained herein. Therefore, the Commission accepts no responsibility or liability whatsoever with regard to the material of the database service and more generally on the website.

This information is:

  • collected throughout the EURL ECVAM validation process or originates from memebre and observer organisations of the International Collaboration on Alternative Testing Methods (ICATM).

  • sometimes linked to external sites over which the Commission services have no control and for which the Commission assumes no responsibility;

  • no legal advice (if you need specific advice, you should always consult a suitably qualified professional).

In case of formal or legal documents, please note that it cannot be guaranteed that a document available on-line exactly reproduces an officially adopted text. For example in the case of the European Union, only the official Journal of the European Union (its printed edition, or since 1 July 2013 its electronic edition made available on the EUR-Lex website), is authentic and produces legal effects. Similar applies to the official documents made available by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), European Pharmacopoeia, International Conference on Harmonisation of technical requirements for registration of pharmaceuticals for human/veterinarian use (ICH), International Organization for Standardization (ISO) etc.

It is our goal to minimise disruption caused by technical errors. However some data or information on our site may have been created or structured in files or formats that are not error-free and we cannot guarantee that our service will not be interrupted or otherwise affected by such problems. The Commission accepts no responsibility with regard to such problems incurred as a result of using this site or any linked external sites.

This disclaimer is not intended to limit the liability of the Commission in contravention of any requirements laid down in applicable national law nor to exclude its liability for matters which may not be excluded under that law.

Use of Cookies

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don't have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

Collection of anonymous traffic data on the JRC Internet websites

When someone browses a JRC website, anonymous site usage information is collected via various technical means. The usage of the site is recorded in log files. These files contain no personal information, nor information about which other sites the visitor has browsed. They allow the JRC to improve the service by knowing its usage, and are processed anonymously.

How to control cookies

You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish - for details, see AllAboutCookies.org. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.
